Sibley Production Plant Damaged by Monday Evening Fire

Sibley, IA (KICD)– Three area fire departments spent Monday evening put out a fire that caused a large amount damage to a production facility in Osceola County.

Fire crews from Sibley, Ashton and Sheldon were called to the Iowa Drying plant in Sibley around eight o’clock where smoke could be seen coming from the structure.

The fire was found burning inside a dryer used to dry egg yolks which is believed to have been caused by old material that ignited and eventually setting the building’s roof on fire.

Damage to the structure and equipment inside is estimated at more than two million dollars.
